In July 2006 B.A.O.D.S. along with the 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band presented "Brassed Off." This play depicted the struggles and strains of a mining community during the turmoil created by the pit closures during the 1970's.

The stress permeates every aspect of the lives of the miners and their families - their finances, marital relationships, friendships, jobs and health. How do they cope?

By the strength of the community spirit which is shown by focusing on their brass band.
